Who Can Ride
- Minimum age to operate: 16 years old. 16–17 must have a valid driver’s license at check-in.
- No previous snowmobiling experience is required.
- Yes – we have single seat snowmobiles and double seat snowmobiles that can accommodate a driver and one passenger.
- For safety and performance, there is a max weight limit of 450 lbs per snowmobile. This applies to each snowmobile (single or double).
- Passengers must be at least 5 years old.
- All riders must be able to sit securely and follow guide instructions.
- There are no seatbelts or handles.
- Passengers must sit behind and hold onto the operator.
- Guides cannot carry passengers.
- Not at all. Our tours are designed for all skill levels.
- Guides provide instruction and set a pace that’s comfortable for everyone.
- Driver changes are typically allowed as long as everyone meets the driving requirements and the guide approves.
What to Wear & Bring
- Dress for winter conditions and plan to layer.
- We recommend warm, waterproof outerwear, winter boots, gloves, and eye protection.
- Please avoid sneakers, light jackets, or clothing that isn’t suitable for cold and snowy conditions.
- Yes. Jackets, bibs, boots, and gloves are available to rent if you need them.
- Availability is limited, so plan ahead when possible.
- Please bring a valid driver’s license if you plan to drive, along with warm layers and sunglasses.
- Small personal items are best kept to a minimum.
What to Expect on Tour Day
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to check in, get fitted for gear if needed, and meet your guide.
- Our team will help get everyone ready before the ride begins.
- Yes. Guides provide a safety briefing and riding instruction before heading out.
- First-time riders will have time to get comfortable before the tour begins.
- Tours are guided at a comfortable pace through scenic Tahoe terrain.
- Guides adjust speed and spacing to match the group and conditions.
- Yes. Tours include scenic stops where you can take photos, enjoy the views, and take a short break.
- Tours last approximately two hours, including instruction and ride time.
- After the tour, you’ll return to the staging area where staff can help with gear return.

- Winter weather in Tahoe can vary from day to day, and even hour to hour.
- Tours operate in a wide range of conditions, including snow and cold temperatures.
- Winter driving conditions can change quickly.
- We recommend checking weather forecasts and road conditions before heading out and allowing extra travel time.
- If conditions affect safety or ride quality, our team will communicate with guests about any necessary adjustments.
- No. Tours operate on groomed trails and maintained terrain throughout the season.
- In rare cases, severe weather may impact operations. If that happens, our team will contact guests directly.
Safety & Responsibility
- Yes. Helmets are required for all riders and are provided as part of your tour.
- Goggles are also included to help protect your eyes from wind and snow.
- Yes. For everyone’s safety, guests must follow their guide’s instructions and ride within designated areas.
- Riding responsibly means operating your snowmobile in a safe and controlled manner and being aware of your surroundings and other riders.
- Guests are responsible for the snowmobile they operate during the tour.
- Our team will explain proper operation and answer questions before the ride begins.
Yes. All participants are required to sign a waiver before riding.
Cancellations & Policies
- Full refund if canceled 72+ hours before the tour. Otherwise you typically receive a rain check for future travel.
- Weather/road conditions don’t count as refundable events unless Coldstream cancels.
- Spots are held only with a confirmed booking. Walk-ups may be accommodated only if there’s space available, but tour are often full.
- Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
- Late arrivals may miss their scheduled tour, as departures run on a set schedule.
- No-shows may be treated as a missed reservation.
- If something unexpected comes up, please contact us as soon as possible.
- Rescheduling may be possible depending on availability.
- Please contact us as early as possible to discuss options.
